Elms on the South Bank
A soundwalk commissioned by curator Rosie
Hermon, part of the Winter Trails: Remapping
Nine Elms festival. Participants were
led together on an accessible and immersive
soundwalk through the area undergoing massive
redevelopment. I was asked to explore a 'multi-layered mapping of the constantly changing space,
how we trace and navigate our environment beyond it’s abstraction as a 2-D map – i.e. mapping through our bodies, mapping through sound etc
using these different methods to think about the specificities of this place'. Also to 'draw attention to/activate sites or trails that are under-investigated or unexplored'.
Within the augmented reality of
the soundwalk opportunities are created for
personal speculation on place, time and the
processes of change. http://nineelmslondon.com/events/winter-trails-remapping-nine-elms/opencity-nine-elms
